F & R Brahmans

F & R Farms is a registered Brahman and F-1 cattle operation. It is located in city of Duson,  in the middle of south Louisiana in Lafayette Parish. The farm was established in 1988 and is owned by Francis Rush and managed by his daughter Colleen and son-in-law John Callender.

F & R was originally established by Marshall Fabacher and Francis Rush who decided to make an easy investment in 5 head of Brahman females. Francis's easy investment has now turned into over twenty two years of raising registered grey brahmans. The farm manages a select head of registered Brahman females. F & R also uses F-1 females that are a Brahman and Hereford or Angus cross, which are used as recipients in the farms embryo transfer program.

The three Rush daughters Erin, April and Colleen have raised and fitted registered Brahmans since 1988. Over the years they have exhibited registered Hereford, Gelbray, Gelbvieh, Braford, and Commercial heifers. From the start the eldest two Rush girls Erin and April began to show cattle in 4-H and open shows. They were soon followed by the youngest, Colleen, in 1991. All three girls were involved in the Louisiana Junior Brahman Association, American Junior Brahman Association and Louisiana Junior Cattleman's Association.

Since their involvement in the show ring, F & R Farms has been focused on raising top quality cattle. They pride themselves in producing cattle with excellent feet and legs that keep them easy moving, depth and extension through the body, natural thickness, eye appeal and overall breed character. They have exhibited their cattle in 10 states and have been awarded numerous state. national and international championships. F & R Farms is the home of the 2001 ABBA Grey Brahman Show Bull of the year and 2000-2001 Premier Show Bull of Florida, FR Mr Zodiak 134 and the 2002 International Reserve Intermediate Champion at HLSR, FR Miss Angelica 171.

We are very excited that Erin's daughter, Katelin Cooper, is carrying on the showman tradition. She is already starting to make her mark on the junior show circuit in Louisiana. We look forward to sharing this experience with her and watching her make new friends in the Brahman breed and in the cattle industry, while having fun at the shows.
